possibly the funniest looking head in canadian punditry, rex murphy also uses a rarefied lexicon (a lot of big words) that makes one haveta end up looking up the words in the dictionary assuming one has a dictionary lying around these days.

tired patience v. willful obstinance/ignorance

my girlfriend used to get really annoyed at my continual viewing of the political gabfests that litter the sunday morning television landscape until, one day, i referred to them as 'my stories'. this seemed to put her at ease a bit because, i guess, she realized that i didn't take them too seriously.
